Members and guests of Philadelphia's African American Museum danced the night away to raise funds for the Museum. Many old faces were seen clippin, slidin', soul train dancing, boppin and all the old school steps while netiworking. A opportunity to see the new exhibits while supporting the cause to incerease membership. The evening was sponsored by Ernest Jones and Carl Singley.

The First Judicial District of Pennsylvania welcomed The National Judicial College participants to the National Constitution Center recently. Held bi-annually, the NJC is celebrating their 47th year with the mission of "Advancing Justice Through Judicial Education." The Honorable Judge Rosalyn K. Robinson served as Mistress of Ceremonies and introduced Marian Anderson Scholar Alexander Caraballo, Tenor who was accompanied by MAHS founder Blanche Burton Lyles in the opening selection of "God Bless America." This is the third year that Philadelphia has hosted the many judges and lawyers who came from around the globe to enhance their professional skills.

The Great Nude Invitational exhibit featuring Sculpture artist Meredith Bergmann with her most powerful work titled "Bomb Torso" at the Roger Smith Hotel opening in NYC. Meredith was the artist who unveiled the 8 ft tall bronze statue of Marian Anderson in Philadelphia 2006 before its permanent installation at the Petrie School of Music on the campus of Converse College in Spartanburg, S. C. The Bomb Torso made of bonded marble was created in reaction to the bombings in London in July 2005.

Dr. Donald B. Parks, Chair, The Philadelphia Award Trustees presided over the Philadelphia Award presented to Joan Myers Brown, Founder of Philadanco. The Philadelphia Award was founded in June 1921 by Edward W. Bok, who created a fund for this purpose: "A prize is conferred by the Philadelphia Award Trustees each year upon the man or woman living in Philadelphia, its suburbs or vicinity, who during the preceding year shall have performed or brought to culmination an act or contributed a service calculated to advance the best and largest interest of the community of which Philadelphia is the center." "Gerry" Lenfest was last year's recipient and Marian Anderson was the 2nd award recipient.
