The Opera Company of Philadelphia really did it this time by debuting a most spectacular opening performance of "Madam Butterfly" at the Academy of Music. It was a full house that buzzed with excitement and enjoyment throughout the evening. The set, the costumes and the artists were amazingly wonderful. Mayor Nutter extended greetings during intermission. - Photo: Richard Danielpour, Composer of recently acclaimed opera "Margaret Garner" and Blanche Burton Lyles exchange greetings during intermission of "Madam Butterfly". Anderson always referred to this opera as the first she heard recalls Lyles.
